FAQs

1.
What makes Chloé Cà Phê & Roastery different from other specialty coffee shops?

At Chloé Cà Phê & Roastery, we don’t just serve coffee—we serve stories. Each cup is rooted in our commitment to community, transparency, and honoring the rich culture of Vietnam. From our direct relationships with farmers to the workshops and events we host, every sip connects you to something bigger.

2. Where do you source your coffee beans?

We source our beans directly from small, family-owned farms in Vietnam, focusing on high-quality, rare varieties like Liberica and THA1. We pay above fair-trade prices because we want to support sustainable farming practices and ensure that the farmers receive the respect and compensation they deserve. This isn't just marketing for us; it's our people.

3. How do you ensure fair treatment of farmers?

Transparency is at the heart of everything we do. We visit the farms to build genuine relationships and see how the beans are cultivated. We often stay at the farm for days or weeks and pick the coffee. This helps us guarantee that the farmers work in fair conditions and are paid well for their dedication and craft.

4. Do you offer any community-focused events?

Absolutely! Our space isn’t just for coffee; it’s a hub for community. We host everything from indie film screenings and nonprofit speaker events to engaging corporate coffee workshops. We love being a place where people come together, share ideas, and foster connections.

5. Why do you travel to Vietnam with your team?

Once a year, we take some of our top team members to Vietnam so they can experience the culture and meet the farmers who make our coffee possible. This trip deepens our connection to the source and instills a greater appreciation for the hard work behind every cup we brew.

6. What’s your approach to training new baristas?

We believe in teaching from the ground up. Experience isn’t necessary—just a willingness to learn, work hard, and serve with a smile. We value training fresh talent so we can pass on our passion and commitment without pre-set habits getting in the way.

7. Can I visit your Cà Phê to learn more about Vietnamese coffee culture?

Of course! Our cà phê is designed to share not just coffee but culture. We love sharing stories, hosting tastings, and explaining the journey of our beans from hillside farms to your cup.

8. How does Chloé Cà Phê support sustainability?

We support sustainability by choosing direct trade, partnering with eco-friendly farms, and minimizing waste in our cà phê. All of the coffee farms we work with grow coffee in polyculture farming; this practice involves growing two or more different crop species simultaneously on the same land. It's why some of our coffee tastes like jackfruit, durian, and avocados; tasting notes vastly differ from other coffee in Western-centric cafes. Our investment of time, access to our modern technology, and above fair price payment for coffee ensure long-standing relationships with farmers and help them invest in practices that benefit both the land and their livelihoods.

9. What kind of experiences can I expect at Chloé Cà Phê?

Expect more than just coffee. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel the energy of a place that values connection, culture, and craft. We host workshops, community meetups, and special events that make our space a lively, inviting spot to learn and engage.

10. Do you offer coffee workshops or classes?

Yes! We offer interactive workshops that cover everything from basic brewing techniques to understanding the different varieties of Vietnamese coffee. These sessions are perfect for coffee lovers wanting to deepen their knowledge or have fun learning.

11. How do you give back to the community?

Community is our cornerstone. We invest in our local area by partnering with nonprofits, offering our event space, and providing job opportunities, including training and growth. Our commitment to paying fair wages and uplifting those around us sets the tone for everything we do.

12. Can I buy your coffee beans online?

Yes, you can! We’re launching our Shopify site to sell our specialty beans for pre-order. Whether you’re across the street or the country, you can enjoy the rich flavors of Chloé Cà Phê and support our mission to honor Vietnamese coffee culture.
