Equal weight. One cup.
Every name we choose carries a story. The Verdict is about balance.
We built this blend from the same two coffees our customers already love in Mekong Mist, then set the scales level: 50% Fine Robusta, 50% Liberica. Neither coffee leads and neither follows. Each gets an equal say, and the cup is the verdict.
The Fine Robusta makes the case for depth. It brings syrupy body, structure, and dark chocolate richness. The Liberica answers with ripe tropical fruit, gentle sweetness, and a floral lift. With the Robusta raised to an equal share, the cup leans a little bolder and fuller-bodied than Mekong Mist, while the Liberica's fruit still comes through in the finish.
The Robusta comes from Nam Ban, Lâm Đồng, at 1,080 masl. Whole cherries go through an anaerobic natural process with a distinctly Vietnamese signature, salt fermentation. Sealed away from oxygen, a measured amount of salt disciplines the ferment. It draws out dense sweetness and structure and tames the rough edges the species is unfairly known for.
The Liberica is the rarer voice, a species most coffee drinkers have never tasted. It grows at 600 masl in Hướng Phùng, in the red soils of Quảng Trị, on tall, broad-leafed trees that are hardy and resilient and that matter to the biodiversity of Vietnamese coffee farms. After harvest, the whole cherries rest through an extended 180-hour anaerobic fermentation, which unlocks the fruit inside this wild bean: jackfruit, smoked honey, and a floral note no other species offers.
A coffee that gives back
The Verdict was made with Anh Phoong and Phoong Law Group. From now through December 31, 2026, $5 from every bag sold goes to My Sister's House. Every cup you brew helps a local cause.
Best ways to brew
Phin filter: The gold standard. Expect a syrupy, dark chocolate cup that stands up to condensed milk or holds its own black.
Espresso: Thick crema and a chocolate base, with the Liberica's fruit riding on top.
Pour over or drip: For the adventurous brewer. This is where the Liberica's fruit and spice come forward.
Why buy The Verdict?
Balanced by design: Equal parts Fine Robusta and Liberica, so you get the body of one and the fruit of the other in every cup.
A rare species: Most coffee drinkers have never tasted Liberica. Be the one to share it.
Coffee with a cause: $5 from every bag through December 31, 2026, goes to My Sister's House.
The specialty evolution: From salt-fermented Fine Robusta to long-fermented Liberica, The Verdict shows how far Vietnamese coffee can reach, where tradition meets modern specialty standards. Imported directly from Vietnam and roasted by Chloé Cà Phê + Roastery.
